Felix Doubront made a big step in his recovery from a strained left shoulder in a rehab start with the PawSox on Tuesday.

Doubront pitched 4.2 innings, giving up six hits and two runs with a walk and three strikeouts. He did not factor into the decision of a PawSox 4-3 win over the Louisvile Bats.

He made 75 pitches, 44 for strikes, leaving the game with the PawSox trailing, 2-1. He recorded five groundouts and three flyouts.

"It's a process," Doubront told the Providence Journal. "It was nice and easy and trying to control my pitches."

Doubront originally injured the arm on May 20 after bumping it into a car door. After pitching in a game later that day, Doubront had to leave with shoulder numbness. He went on the DL the next day.

Doubront reportedly hit low 90's in the first inning.
