The Red Sox starting rotation has gotten off to a strong start in the 2013 season.

Before the season began, Steve Buckley knew before the season who would be the X-factor for the Red Sox starting rotation.

"To me it all came down from the beginning of the season to two guys." said Steve Buckley, "Can Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz return to the form that they had a few years ago when they were on the cusp of becoming perhaps the best one-two combination in baseball?"

Although the duo of Lester and Buchholz are off to a hot start, Red Sox Insider Sean McAdam doesn't want to give them all the credit.

"It's not just Lester and Buchholz, who are leading the way and are the top to starters in the rotation." added Sean McAdam, "It's guys like Dempster who has kept them in games even though he was going five innings in his first two games. It's Aceves stepping in giving them two very representative starts as a fill-in for Lackey… It's really one through five.  They have not been out of a game."

"If they're not giving up four, five, or six runs and giving you a chance into the middle and late innings, you are going to win a lot of those games."
