Steve Buckley said he would not sell his vote no matter how much money he was offered.

Deadspin will now join the exclusive rank of voting for members of the baseball Hall of Fame.

On Wednesday, it was reported that one member of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) sold their Hall of Fame vote to Deadspin.

Steve Buckley, who is a member of the BBWAA, said his vote is not for sale on Sports Tonight.

“I can’t even joke about that. My vote wouldn’t be for sale,” Buckley said. “Hundred thousand dollars, a million dollars, no, because you have to live with that for the rest of your life and I don’t want to be a punk the rest of my life.”

Gary Tanguay believes this decision disrespects the other members of the BBWAA.

“For this person to insult those people, like yourself [Buckley], and [Peter] Gammons, and [Dan] Shaughnessy and [Nick] Cafardo is a crime,” Tanguay said.
