The Red Sox made a few roster moves Thursday . . . but not the one everyone's been waiting for.
Still, one of them is sure to raise a few eyebrows.
While Jackie Bradley Jr.'s status remains in limbo, the Sox sent the beleaguered Daniel Bard to the minors . . . but not to Triple-A Pawtucket. They shipped him down another level, to Double-A Portland, to attempt to work out his control and command problems.
The other two moves: Mauro Gomez was optioned to Pawtucket, and Stephen Drew was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list, retroactive to March 27.
The Sox still have 32 players on the roster. They need to cut down to 25 by Opening Day.
