Miller was placed on the DL on Sunday after he left Saturday night's game vs. the Angels in the seventh inning. He was hurt trying to cover home plate after a single up the middle.
He was taken to a local hospital for X-rays, but they were negative. Red Sox manager John Farrell said on Saturday that Miller did not sustain an injury to his Achilles.
Miller was a bright spot in Boston's bullpen. He struck out 48 batters in 30 2/3 innings this year, posting a 1-2 record and a 2.64 ERA in 37 appearances.
