Patriots Talk

Tom Brady reminded us that there was a silver lining after yesterday's lackluster performance: They won.
Tom E. Curran says this win against the Jets shined a light on the Patriots weaknesses that, until now, seemed ones theyd be able to move past.
Before the Patriots hosted the Jets on Sunday, Tom E. Curran came through with the preview. Now, he's back with the review of his preview after the Pats' overtime win.
Against the Jets it was a bit of a mix, and the Patriots got mixed results. They scored just one touchdown after the first quarter and watched a 10-point lead vanish as they punted on five of their six possessions in the second half.
Because of the win, the Patriots won't focus on Devin McCourty's fourth-quarter fumble. They'll thank him for the early touchdown on a kick return instead.
In overtime, Patriots linebacker Rob Ninkovich made the type of game-winning play New England has been lacking. His forced fumble and recovery closed out a 29-26 OT victory over the Jets.
The Jets had their chances to win on Sunday but lost to the Patriots in overtime, 26-23. If not for their own self-inflicted errors, they thought, it could be them sitting atop the AFC East at 4-3, not the Patriots.
