The New England Patriots got the veteran presence they wanted for the back end of their secondary.
The Patriots have reached an agreement with free agent safety Adrian Wilson, his agent confirmed Friday night.
"Congrats to client @adrian_wilson24 on signing with the New England Patriots!" agent Tory Dandy tweeted.
At 6' 3", Wilson brings the physical presence the Patriots have been looking for.
Wilson, 33, was released by the Arizona Cardinals earlier this month after 12 seasons in the desert. He is one of just six players in NFL history to record at least 25 sacks and 25 interceptions in his career, and also has four Pro Bowl selections.
Wilson played 15 games for the Cardinals last season, recording 54 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble.
The Patriots already have safeties Devin McCourty, Steve Gregory, Tavon Wilson and Nate Ebner on the roster.
