Vince Wilfork's leadership is no secret around the Patriots organization.

The All-Pro nose tackle has been an integral part of the team on and off the field since he was drafted by them in 2004.

But Wilfork is one of many Patriots that his season cut short due to injury. He can't play on the field . . . but unlike so many injured Patriots, he is allowed to travel with the team.

This bit of news and more on Wilfork is featured in the upcoming edition of 60 Minutes Sports on Showtime.

In the feature, Pam Oliver profiles Wilfork, and how much he means to the Patriots. Wilfork approached Bill Belichick and asked him if he could travel with the team when he's able to. According to Wilfork on Showtime, Belichick said, "We would love that."

The feature also has Robert Kraft in it, who speaks highly of Wilfork.

“He’s the heart and soul,” says Kraft in the show. “You’re always looking for leadership from within, where someone steps up and motivates and brings people to a higher plane."

The show is premiering Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 10. p.m.
