Things are about to get tougher for the New England Patriots.

After jumping out to a 3-0 start thanks to the Bills, Jets, and Buccaneers, the Pats will travel to Atlanta, then to Cincinnati, then host the Saints.

Those teams are better than the first three, combining to average a touchdown more per game and 40 more yards per game.

The Patriots certainly won't complain though. Clearly, they had some things to work out on their own before they were ready to roll with the better teams.

Gary Tanguay, Lou Merloni, Troy Brown, and Bob Ryan discussed on Sports Tonight.

"You can only play the schedule you got," Ryan said. "It's a great bonus, a benefit, its enabled this team to be able to bring along the young receivers, to work certain things out, and to get ready for the next three weeks. I can't wait for three weeks from today, we'll know so much more. We'll know what kind of team this real is."

Troy Brown gives the Patriots defense a little more credit than others are.

"I'm thinking they're going to go down to Atlanta and play well too," Brown said. "I mean, Julio Jones is the one guy right now that's healthy for the Atlanta Falcons, Roddy White's been limping around since the beginning of the season, [Tony] Gonzalez decided to skip training camp. And I'm not sold on [Matt Ryan] completely. He's a good quarterback, better than most, but I'm not going to put him up there with Peyton Manning or Tom Brady."
