Wes Welker knows a thing or two about being a productive wide receiver on the Patriots.

He's easily been the most consistent receiver on the team since joining before the 2007 season, and by all accounts wants to remain a Patriot down the line.

Asked about the Patriots biggest offseason acquisition in wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, Welker had high praise for the player and the signing, with a hope that Lloyd will be able to grasp the playbook early on having familiarity with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels in Denver and St. Louis.

"I think he definitely does some things really well in the way that he's -- some of the catches I've seen him make are pretty phenomenal and what he's been able to do. I think he's going to be a great addition for us and as far as knowing the offense and all those different things with Josh here in Denver, and St. Louis and things. Hopefully we can keep bringing him along and he can make some significant plays for us."

With Lloyd streaking down the sidelines, Welker in the slot, and tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez more than in the mix, the Patriots offense should be high-flying all season long.
