Here's your wakeup call -- a combination of newsworthy and/or interesting baseball tidbits -- for Tuesday, April 23:

  • Pat Summitt's career, and life, is chronicled in a documentary that debuted Sunday in the Tribeca Film Festival and will begin airing on ESPN in July. (AP)

  • Rutgers will introduce Eddie Jordan as its new coach today. (AP)

  • Kansas State is just too far away from Puerto Rico for Angel Rodriguez, so he's transferring. Didn't say where, though I guess we can rule out Michigan or Oregon. (AP)

  • Is Russ Smith going back to Louisville? We may find out Wednesday. (NBC's College Basketball Talk)

  • Wendell Hudson was the University of Alabama's first black scholarship athlete, back in the 1970s. That long-standing tie to the school may be why they didn't fire him after five so-so seasons as women's basketball coach, but instead reassigned him to an administrative role. (AP)

  • Auburn goes on the offensive against the many allegations that have surfaced against its football program. (AP)

  • Central Florida fought the law . . . and it won! (AP)

  • If you're a Big 12 team and you get invited to a minor bowl, the conference wants it to be one your fans can drive to. (AP)
