Coming into the season, it looked like the AFC East would be one of the weaker divisions in football.

After two weeks though, AFC East teams have a combined record of 6-2, tied for the best mark in the NFL. Tom E. Curran and Ross Tucker from the NBC Sports Network discussed the new and improved division.

“I think they are clearly better than people anticipated,” said Parker of the AFC East. “The only losses for the Jets and Bills are in division to the Patriots. And then you look at the Miami Dolphins, both of their wins are on the road. They are the only 2-0 team that got both their wins on the road. I think there is a very real chance that every team in the division, with the exception of the Patriots, is better than we thought.”

Curran and Tucker then talked about the Patriots’ upcoming matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are looking for their first win of the season.

“They need to get a win,” Tucker said. “When you have this much drama going on, it feels like it’s a soap opera down there in Tampa. You have to get a win to try to right the ship. You just need to get that first win in the worst way to stem the tide. It’s going to be tough though for Tampa.”
