The New England Patriots’ 30-27 win over the New Orleans Saints last week came at a price.
The Patriots lost many key players in the win with Aqib Talib, Danny Amendola, and Jerod Mayo all going down with injuries. While it is uncertain whether Talib or Amendola will play this weekend, Mayo is out for the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle.
Andy Hart and Paul Perillo sat down on Patriots Football Weekly to discuss if the Patriots can overcome the rash of injuries.
“They are building momentum, they are getting better on both sides of the football, we can buy into the defense, unfortunately to me from afar, it feels like the ground is just going to fall out from underneath them,” Hart said. “There are only so many injuries you can overcome to so many key players on both sides of the ball.”
However, not all hope is lost, as by having the right mindset the Patriots could be able to fight off this adversity.
“I don’t see any reason why moving forward they can’t have that next guy up mentality and find a way to piece it together,” Perillo said. “It’s not going to be perfect. They are going to have a step back, but I think you can get by.”
