It took over 13 minutes into overtime for the New England Patriots to break the deadlock against the Broncos, and take home a 34-31 victory.

If it wasn’t for the ball hitting Tony Carter, the Patriots could have been well on their way to a tie.

Andy Hart and Paul Perillo debate on Patriots Football Weekly if having ties in football in un-American.

“We have games here in this country and we like to have a winner,” Perillo said. “A winner and a loser, not a tie.”

On the other hand, Hart is perfectly fine with football games ending in a tie after teams play an overtime period.

“You play a full five quarters of football, if a winner has not been decided by then, a tie is fine,” Hart said. “You both had the opportunity to win. We are not giving anything away. This isn’t the cheese line in the Soviet Union where everybody gets one slice of cheese. You had your opportunity to win more cheese, you didn’t take it.”
