If you watched any of the Patriots - Falcons game Sunday night, you probably saw Aqib Talib defend a pass.

The Pats cornerback was all over the field following the Faclcons' stud receivers everywhere.

Over the first four games of the season, Talib has arguably been the team MVP, and has shown that he is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.

Gary Tanguay and WEEI's Kirk Minihane and Chris Price discuss how good Talib has been compared to past cornerbacks on the Patriots.

Tanguay asks if it's the best performance since Ty Law.

"I think so, and maybe I'm short-changing Asante Samuel here a little bit in some spots, but that was a Ty Law type of game," Minihane said.

Price agrees that Talib has been stellar.

"If you're looking over the course over the last decade, I think over the course of these first four games, Talib is just as good as what Samuel did over 2007, just as good as what Ty Law did in 2003," Price said. "Kind of short-changing defensive backs a little bit by just using interceptions, but I think they've done well to this point in the season."

Talib signed a one-year deal for $5 million this year, but it's obvious that he's going to get a much bigger deal at the end of this season.

"I think if he continues at this current rate, there's no telling what the ceiling is going to be for him," Price said.

Minihane says it actually hurts the Patriots that he played so well at the national level last night.
