Patriots coach Bill Belichick didn't have many updates on his injured players during Tuesday's conference call, but he did say that Brandon Spikes -- who left Sunday's game with a knee injury -- was in "good spirits" and "feeling better" when he saw him on Monday.

"I think we really need to give it just a little bit more time here," said Belichick. "I saw him yesterday. He was in good spirits, feeling better. We'll see how things go today, and then we'll take another look at him tomorrow."

"Gary Guyton came in after Brandon went out, and Jerod's played that position before. Injured linebacker Dane Fletcher is coming along. Hopefully he'll be making good progress and get back soon. We'll see where we are with everybody here on Wednesday."
