FOXBORO -- For the second consecutive day this week, tackle Sebastian Vollmer and special teamer Matthew Slater were not present for the start of Patriots practice.

Neither player participated in Wednesday's practice due to injury. Slater has a wrist injury that he reportedly suffered against the Jets in Week 2. Vollmer has an injured foot that kept him out for the second half of New England's 23-3 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Vince Wilfork (foot), Jerod Mayo (ankle) and Kyle Arrington (groin) were all new additions to the Patriots injury report on Wednesday, but on Thursday all were present and participating in the warm-up portion of practice to which media members had access.

Danny Amendola (groin) and Rob Gronkowski (forearm/back) were also warming up with their teammates. Both insisted on Wednesday that they were improving and hoped to be able to return to game action soon. Both were listed as limited participants on Wednesday's practice report.
