The Patriots aren't the only team taking their share of crushing injuries this season.

The latest comes out of Denver, where Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller was diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

The Broncos don't have a great defense to begin with, and this obviously exposes them even more.

The guys on Sports Tonight discuss this injury news.

"It reminds you that bad management can hurt you at this time of year," Andy Gresh said, "because they screwed up the Elvis Dumervil thing and now they lose Von Miller, and they don't have any pass rushers on the outside."

Dan Shaughnessy says that this couldn't work out any better for the Patriots.

"Well this is where they're vulnerable too," Shaughnessy said. "The defensive side of the ball is vulnerable. All of a sudden, this is like perfect for the Patriots, this is one of those things that goes their way."

Gresh won't let him label the Broncos as a "tomato can", though.

"But you have to admit," Shaughnessy said, "this weakens them in a position that they really need, and it gives the Patriots a chance - more of a chance than a puncher's chance - to win in Denver, which is what they're going to have to do."

The guys then get into the importance of New England getting a first round bye, and the importance - or lack of importance - in Peyton Manning getting the touchdown record.
