Well, it didn't take long for the wheeling and dealing to begin on the first day of NFL free agency . . . and some of the Patriots' biggest rivals were involved:
-- The Steelers' loss was the Dolphins' gain, as Miami agreed to a contract with wide receiver Mike Wallace.
-- The Ravens lost one of their key defenders, as defensive lineman Paul Kruger is headed to Cleveland, lured by a five-year, $40 million contract.
-- Miami made another addition, and Baltimore suffered another loss, when the Dolphins signed linebacker Dannell Ellerbe.
-- One day after Buffalo general manager Buddy Nix was heard talking about his frustration with Ryan Fitzpatrick on the tape of a phone call obtained by Deadspin, the Bills released the veteran quarterback. Fitzpatrick threw for 3400 yards last season, including 24 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. The Harvard graduate was due a $3 million bonus on Wednesday.
