Stevan Ridley has been benched for New England's game against Houston. The running back has not been struggling with injury, but with ball security, and will take a seat for the team's Week 13 matchup. Ridley has fumbled once in each of the Patriots' last three games; all were recovered by the opposition.
New England will also be without the services of Alfonzo Dennard. The cornerback has been battling a knee injury and missed the game against Carolina. Despite reportedly having a minor procedure done on the knee the following week, he returned against the Broncos. Dennard's practice participation varied throughout the week.
The team takes two other hits today in sitting starting right tackle Marcus Cannon (ankle) and receiver Aaron Dobson (foot). Both players were injured in last weekend's game against Denver and ruled out this Friday.
Tight end Michael Hoomanawanui (knee) didn't practice at all last week and is also inactive against the Texans.
