The Patriots have signed former Raiders defensive endweakside linebacker Trevor Scott, according to numerous reports.
Scott, who turns 28 on Aug. 30, reportedly signed a one-year contract as a free agent.
The relatively inexpensive Scott showed much promise early in his career. He wracked up 12 sacks in his first two seasons, including seven in his second year.
However, he's only had 1 12 sacks the past two years. He blew out his left knee at Pittsburgh on Nov. 21, 2010 and missed the final six games of that season. While the 6-feet-5, 255-pound Scott played in 14 games last season, he was shut out in the sack department and only had seven tackles for the year.
