The hits just keep on coming for the New England Patriots.

While the offense is dealing with a number of injuries early on in the season, the special teams unit may also have an injury concern of their own.

Matthew Slater reportedly has a broken bone in his hand, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, and his status for Sunday against the Bucs is in question.

The Boston Herald's Karen Guregian followed up that report by saying that Slater could be out four to six weeks due to the injury.

Slater has been the leader of the special teams for a couple years, going to the Pro Bowl twice in that time, and being named one of the team's captains.
