Report: Patriots sign FB Fiammetta

The Patriots now have three -- yes, three -- fullbacks.

Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe reported Monday that Tony Fiammetta, former Dallas Cowboy, has agreed to terms with New England. He joins Lousaka Polite and the newly-signed Spencer Larsen in the position group.

According to Bedard, Dallas tried to extend the 6-0, 242-pound back at less money than the 1.26 million RFA tender, but Fiammetta cast his line into free agent waters.

He hasn't played a 16-game season in his three-year career.

Drafted by Carolina in 2009's fourth round, Fiammetta suffered from concussions and was released. He was limited to 10 games with the 'Boys last season because of an inner-ear infection that affected his balance.
