The Patriots have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with free agent cornerback Will Allen, according to Brian McIntyre of Football Outsiders.
Allen started six of 15 games in 2011, playing in nearly 60 percent of the team's defensive snaps, according to McIntyre. He had 43 tackles and three passes defensed last season.
An 11-year veteran, Allen has spent the last six seasons with the Dolphins. He tore the ACL in his left knee in 2009, which kept him out for much of that season and the entire 2010 season.
