The Patriots have reached an agreement to re-sign free agent right tackle Sebastian Vollmer, according to ESPNBoston.com.
Terms of the deal were not immediately known, but Vollmer was considered one of the top offensive tackles on the free agent market. Another top free agent tackle, Jake Long, left the Miami Dolphins and signed a four-year deal worth up to $36 million with the St. Louis Rams last week.
The Boston Herald reported that Vollmer will sign a four-year deal.
Vollmer, 28, a second-round pick in 2009 from the University of Houston, played all but one game last season. The native of Germany has started 44 of 51 career games. Vollmer had minor knee surgery in February.
The agreement with Vollmer locks up the Pats' last remaining top free agent. The Patriots earlier this month brought back cornerback Aqib Talib, but lost wide receiver Wes Welker to the Denver Broncos.
