There’s a new development in the never-ending Aaron Hernandez saga.
The Associated Press is reporting that Carlos Ortiz told authorities that the former Patriots tight end put the firearms used to kill Odin Lloyd, a 27-year old semi-pro football player from Boston, into a black box in the basement of his home in North Attleboro, Mass.
The gun believed to have been used in the murder of Lloyd, a .45-caliber Glock, hasn’t been recovered. Authorities have been searching a lake in Hernandez’s hometown of Bristol, Conn. this week, a search related to the investigation. They have not confirmed that they are looking for the firearm, however.
Ortiz is facing a firearm charge in connection with the case, and is being held without bail.
Hernandez is also being held without bail, but for first-degree murder and multiple firearms charges. He is due back in court August 22 for a probable cause hearing.
