Report: Hernandez proclaims innocence in letter

TMZ has obtained a letter it says was written by former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez from his jail cell, declaring his innocence in the murder of Odin Lloyd.

In the letter, Hernandez says that people are falsely accusing him of things, saying, "it will all die down especially when they say NOT GUILTY and all the people who turned on me will feel like crap". Hernandez also writes that " 'God' has a plan for me" and " 'GOD' put me in this situation for a reason".

TMZ says it has verified with law enforcement that the letter is, in fact, from Hernandez. The letter, in full, is below:

Your letter meant alot and was very true! I know everything happens for a reason and I know "God" has a plan for me and something good will come out of this, The world just makes things out of false accusations and it will all die down especially when they say NOT GUILTY and all the people who turned on me will feel like crap. I've always been a great person an known for having an amazing heart! I am a strong person and nothing will break me! A C.O. will never nor can they say now for one day have I been down or not with a smile on my face. I know there is a reason I'm going thru this and I will figure it out through my relationship with the Lord. I fell off especially after making all that money but when its all said and done "GOD" put me in this situation for a reason! I'm humbled by this ALREADY and this will change me forever. At least I'll know my true supporters. Thanks for being one of them!

Thanks,
Aaron Hernandez 81

I can't want to sign this again when I'm playing again and prove all the haters and (unknown) talkers WRONG.

P.S. the pictures are definitely hanging on my walls and def meant alot! Thanks again brotha!

Clowney fined for hit on Brady; Rowe fined for unsportsmanlike penalty

When Tom Brady complained to officials during the third quarter of last week's Divisional Round game against the Texans, he was wondering why Jadeveon Clowney wasn't penalized for a late hit.

Not only did Brady get the call a little later in the game when Clowney hit him again in the fourth, but Clowney has now been fined for that hit. Per Pro Football Talk, Clowney was docked $18,231 for roughing the passer.

Brady defended his on-the-field tantrum in the third quarter after Clowney's hit, insisting it may have helped lead to the Patriots being given extra yardage in the fourth.

"Yeah, I would love to try to make sure the officials are paying close attention," Brady told WEEI's Kirk and Callahan show. "If we can get one of those 15-yard penalties, those are important."

Patriots corner Eric Rowe was also fined for his actions during the Divisional Round. He was hit with a $12,154 penalty after picking up an unsportsmanlike penalty for pulling a Texans player off of a scrum in the first quarter
