The Aaron Hernandez prosecution is still missing one major piece of evidence in the Odin Lloyd murder investigation – the gun used to kill Lloyd has not been recovered.
The search for the gun, which in the past two weeks moved to a lake near Hernandez’s childhood home in Bristol, Conn., still goes on with no answers in site. In the on-going search for the gun, investigators have moved on to a smaller body of water near the lake in hopes that the firearm, a .45 caliber hangun, will show up there, according to a CNN report.
Hernandez is still being held without bail in the murder of the 27-year old Lloyd, charged with first-degree murder and five firearms charges. Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz have also been arrested as part of the investigation.
