Many were wondering why Rob Gronkowski was suddenly scratched from the NFL Network's Red Carpet correspondent gig at the Oscars on Sunday.
We now have a pretty good idea why.
ESPN's Adam Schefter and Field Yates report that Gronk had surgery last week for an infection in his broken forearm suffered in the AFC Divisional Round game vs. the Houston Texans. They also report that it shouldn't affect Gronk's recovery and he should be ready for the team's training camp.
From me and @fieldyates: Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski underwent surgery last week for an infection in same forearm he re-broke against Houston— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) February 25, 2013
Rob Gronkowski's elbow infection was caught early enough that he is likely not miss any extended time and is expected to be for camp.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) February 25, 2013
