The Patriots looked like they were going to dodge having to play one of the NFL’s best safeties, Dashon Goldson this weekend.
Not so fast. Goldson’s one-game suspension has been overturned, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Goldson was punished Monday for helmet-to-helmet contact on Saints running back Darren Sproles. The Sproles hit will now cost Goldson $100,000 but not a game. Goldson was fined $30,000 for a hit in the season opener against the Jets.
The appeal was heard by NFL appeals officer Matt Birk.
