Patriots brass didn't contact Ed Reed, but did their quarterback?
According to a report by CBS' Jason LaCanfora, Tom Brady got in touch with the future Hall-of-Fame safety, "sending texts urging Reed to stop playing against New England and start playing for them."
As our Tom E. Curran reported, however, despite Brady's reported efforts, the Patriots front office did not make any kind of real push to acquire Reed. The Jets did, and they're the ones who landed him.
