Though his past injuries seemed to be flukey in nature when he was acquired by the Patriots, Danny Amendola had a reputation for spending more time on the training table than on the field. It appears as though that rep is going to be tough to shake given his start in New England.
According to NFL Network, Amendola could be out for 2-6 weeks because of a groin injury that he aggravated against the Bills in New England's Week 1 win on Sunday. He is inactive tonight against the Jets.
Expect to see the Patriots lean more on Julian Edelman -- who caught two touchdown passes in Buffalo with Amendola hobbled in the first half -- and their rookie wideouts Kenbrell Thompkins, Josh Boyce and Aaron Dobson.
Despite his injury, Amendola finished Week 1 with 10 catches for 104 yards, including key drive-extending receptions in the second half to help the Patriots finish off their comeback win.
