Ochocinco will return to original surname in July

Chad is done with Ochocinco.

The Patriots receiver tweeted name-change news Wednesday, saying he'll return to his original surname "Johnson" on July 4. He first changed to Ochocinco -- Spanish for his then-Cincinnati Bengals jersey numbers 8-5 -- on August 29, 2008. He was also famous for sporting a blonde mohawk and gold grill back then.

The receiver had racked up six, 1,000 yard seasons as Chad Johnson. This past year in New England was the worst of his career: 15 catches for 276 yards and one touchdown.

Is returning to "Johnson" another move in line with the more conservative Patriot Way? His job is in jeopardy, after all.

Ochocinco gave only sarcastic explanations via Twitter:
"@Ochocinco Yes, there's a warrant out for OchoCinco so I'm changing it to avoid jail time. Thug Life"

Sporting News speculates it might have more to do with his impending nuptials to reality TV personality Evelyn Lozada.
