Montana would take Brady as his QB

There's long been the comparison between Tom Brady and Joe Montana.

Brady has won more games, and thrown for more touchdowns. But Montana has him where it really counts, Super Bowl rings.

Sitting in on the Dan Patrick Show, Joe Montana himself was asked to finish Dan Patrick's sentence:

If Brady wins his fourth Super Bowl

"Then he'll probably go to a fifth," Montana said with a laugh.

That would probably be enough to say that Brady's career was better than Montana's when it's all said and done -- and tack on the extra stats.

"Obviously, he's doing crazy things number-wise and he's still got a number of years left so I'm sure he'll break almost every record out there," Montana said.

But what about passing the record for four Super Bowl rings?

"He may do that here soon, and with the team and the way they play there's chances they'll be back again."

That could be true. With Brady and Bill Belichick on the same team, the Pats can't be counted out.

But what if it was Montana's team? Who would he take at quarterback? None other than the guy who gets compared to him the most.

"Right now you'd have to take Tom," Montana said. "Tom I think is playing at a level where -- Aaron Rodgers obviously was off the chart also and Drew Brees had a great year, but it's hard. But when it comes down to all of it it would be a tough decision, but I think I'd end up taking Tom."

Good answer, Joe.
