Early in the season, the New England Patriots still have several questions to answer.
Andy Hart, Paul Perillo, and Fred Kirsch tried to answer some of those questions on Patriots Football Weekly.
With LeGarrette Blount returning kicks so far this season, many fans are wondering what the plan is for Leon Washington.
“That’s a great question, because I have been wondering the same thing,” said Perillo on why Washington isn’t returning kicks. “My only guess here is when they resigned Leon Washington, he did have a thigh problem, he didn’t play in the first game, he was inactive. My guess is that he is not quite 100 percent and they don’t want to risk that. Other than that, Bill hasn’t really said anything. Even with Washington not doing it, I think Blount is a curious choice to handle those duties.”
Hart tackled the next question, when someone thought Peyton Manning would do better with the receivers that Tom Brady has now.
“Manning has always had somebody, he has always had a prime weapon,” Hart said. “I don’t think we have ever seen Peyton Manning play in the type of offense that Brady has to right now without all his weapons. Depending on how you listed him, [Brady] is without what should be his top four, five, six weapons, depending on how far back you want to go in the offseason.”
