According to the NFL's transaction wire, the trade between the Patriots and Packers that was set to send defensive lineman Jerel Worthy to New England has been completed.

In order for the Patriots to make room for Worthy, they have waived/injured tight end Terrence Miller. If Miller is not claimed, he may be placed on injured reserve Thursday.

Field Yates of ESPN reminds us that trades may become official before physicals are taken, which is important to note since Worthy's physical could be a legitimate hurdle for the deal. He has yet to practice in training camp due to a back injury, per reports out of Green Bay.

With Miller out of the mix, the Patriots have just two tight ends who have been participating fully in practice this week -- and they're two new ones at that. Ben Hartsock and Steve Maneri may be the only tight ends suited up for Friday's preseason game with the Eagles because Rob Gronkowski still has yet to take on full-contact drills, and DJ Williams and Michael Hoomanawanui have missed this week's practices due to undisclosed injuries.
