Patriots sign Tarpinian, release Tennant

The Patriots have made a couple roster moves heading into Sunday's matchup against the New York Jets.

The Patriots announced today that the team has released offensive lineman Matt Tennant and signed linebacker Jeff Tarpinian.

Tarpinian was signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent last season. The 25-year-old played in seven games for the team making four defensive tackles and eight special teams tackles. He was released by the Patriots in August and signed with the practice squad in September.

Tennant was claimed off waivers by the Patriots after being released by the Saints after training camp. He was released and re-signed by the Patriots during September. The 25-year-old has played in 28 career games on the offensive line.
