The Patriots announced the signing of free agent Will Svitek on Monday.
Terms of the deal have not yet been released.
The 6-6, 308-pound tackle entered the league in 2005 as a sixth-round draft pick by Kansas City. He's spent seven seasons in the NFL, split between the Chiefs and Atlanta.
Svitek, 31, played defensive end when in college at Stanford. After being drafted, he switched to the other side of the line and played 16 games there in three seasons with Kansas City. He signed on with the Falcons in 2009 and eventually found a groove, starting 10 of 16 games played in 2011. Svitek spent nearly all of last season relegated to IR with an injured arm.
