The Patriots found a pass rusher hiding in America's hat.

Armond Armstead, who played in the CFL in 2012, agreed to a deal with the Patriots on Monday, according to a source.

Terms of the deal are not yet known.

Armstead, 22, is a 6-foot-5, 300-pound defensive tackle with excellent pass-rushing skills. He amassed six sacks this year for the Toronto Argonauts. The Eagles, Colts and Patriots all courted Armstead in the past few weeks.

Armstead was a productive junior at USC but prior to his senior season in 2011, he complained of chest pains and was never cleared to play. Armstead filed suit against USC alleging the painkiller Toradol caused him to have a heart attack.

In 2012, Armstead declared for the NFL draft but wasn't selected. That's how he landed in Canada.

Here are some clips of Armstead while with Toronto.
