The Patriots signed second-round pick Jamie Collins and seventh-round pick Steve Beauharnais, the team announced Friday.
Collins, a linebacker out of Southern Mississippi, was the 52nd overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft. A converted safety, Collins played in 52 games making 34 starts. He registered 314 total tackles, 21 sacks, seven forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, three interceptions. He led the team with 92 total tackles and 10 sacks last season.
Beauharnais was selected by the Patriots with the 235th pick in the 2013 NFL draft. The linebacker out of Rutgers started three seasons at the position. Last season, he made 82 tackles and was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award.
