The Patriots made a pair of roster moves Tuesday, releasing Brockton native Jason Vega and signing rookie tight end Evan Landi.
Vega, 26, out of Northeastern and the Canadian Football League, suffered a knee injury in Friday's preseason opener against the Eagles and got an MRI Tuesday.
The defensive lineman signed as a free agent in February. He had three tackles in the Patriots' 31-22 win in Philadelphia.
Landi, 23, was signed as a rookie free agent out of South Florida by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who the Patriots are holding joint practices with this week. He was released June 4.
The 6-foot-3, 236-pounder played in 46 games at South Florida and made 72 catches for 846 yards and three touchdowns. Landi also saw time at receiver and quarterback while in college.
