All anyone wanted to talk about leading up to the Patriots versus Saints game was the absence of Rob Gronkowski on Sundays.

Well, Tom Brady’s 17-yard touchdown pass to Kenbrell Thompkins with five seconds left in the game to lift the Patriots to a 30-27 win has silenced the Gronkowski talk for now.

Questions still remain about Gronkowski, and Mike Giardi and Tom E. Curran discussed after the game on PostGame Live the ongoing Gronkowski saga and the Patriots improbable comeback.

“If you look at this, it reinforces the culture of who you are and what you are capable of,” Giardi said, “despite all the distractions with Gronkowski and the injuries.”

With 1:13 left in the game, Brady looked like vintage Brady when he led a game-winning drive down the field.

“I don’t understand why people would underestimate [Brady],” Curran said. “This is a team, in New Orleans, that no one has scored over 20 points against, the Patriots just put up 30. I think flavor of the week causes people to not realize what they’re looking at. It’s a remarkable last drive by the Patriots.”
