The New England Patriots have promoted defensive back Malcolm Williams from the practice squad for Sunday's matchup against the Bills.
Williams got the promotion over Ross Ventrone, who has been moved from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on a regular basis this season. If Ventrone appeared in one more game for the Patriots he would surpassed nine regular season games, making him ineligible to return to the practice squad for the remainder of his career.
Williams has been with the Patriots for one game this season.
