INDIANAPOLIS -- Tom Brady was the first player off the team bus on Super Bowl Sunday. Rob Gronkowski had his left foot back in the black walking boot, but the tight end made his way into Lucas Oil Stadium without any obvious discomfort.
Brandon Spikes, either because he's superstitious or because he packed light, wore the pink pinstripe suit he sported at the Patriots send-off rally. He walked with Andre Carter, who needed no crutches.
None of them, not Brady, not Chad Ochocinco, betrayed a smile. All looked focused but loose.
Three hours until kickoff.
