FOXBORO -- Here's a few quick lingering thoughts on who played well and who didn't in the first half. For our full first-half recap, head here
Kenbrell Thompkins. Had three catches for 32 yards and nifty back-shoulder touchdown catch from Tom Brady.
Malcolm Butler. The scrappy corner forced a fumble that got credited to Dont'a Hightower. But I’m sticking with Butler. Got the start opposite Darrelle Revis and looked just fine.
Jimmy Garoppolo. Given the chance to play with the 1s, Diamond Jimmy had another nice performance with a pair of touchdown passes while going 8 for 12 for 72 yards.
Tyler Ott. The longsnapper trying to unseat incumbent Danny Aiken got his shot on a punt. It was a nice snap. But the guy Ott ought to have blocked ran past him and blocked the punt.
Jordan Devey, Got the start at right guard. Got a couple of penalties and was desperately seeking someone to block on a couple of plays.
Ryan Mallett. Literally. The kid didn’t get off the bench in the first half. Bleak.
(Dishonorable mention)
Steve Maneri. Newly acquired tight end, didn’t turn around for a pass thrown by Tom Brady. Touchdown Eagles.
