The New England Patriots made a roster move on Thursday before their game against the Jets, claiming DT Chris Jones off waivers, and releasing OL Josh Kline.
Jones, a sixth-round draft pick by the Texans out of Bowling Green this year, was cut in training camp by the team. He was then claimed by the Buccaneers, but released on Wednesday.
Jones played in 50 straight games for Bowling Green, making 44 starts. He was the team captain his senior year, as well as MAC Defensive Player of the Year, First-Team All-MAC, and Third-Team All-American by AP.
He made 157 career tackles in college, 28.0 sacks, 46.0 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries.
Kline is a practice squad candidate, having already been on the squad before being called up to the 53-man roster by the Patriots last week.
