The Patriots surprised many by drafting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in the second round of the NFL Draft.
After all, they do have some guy named Tom Brady.
But Brady is getting up there in age, and Bill Belichick did use the word "situation" when discussing Brady and the QB position.
Obviously this is still Brady's job and it should remain that way for at least a few more seasons.
But with Garoppolo waiting in the wing, is that something that will keep Brady motivated and give him that extra push as he gets older?
Perhaps that was part of the reason the Patriots did it?
"I don't think Tom Brady will be quarterback for the New England Patriots when he is 40." said Tanguay, "I think Belichick feels it's not going to happen. That's why he's trying to plan for the future."
"I understand Bill [Belichick's] point that he doesn't want to be Indy." said Neumeier, "Is this the right guy at this point in time? I say, I'm not sure."
