Something is noticeably different in the Patriots secondary and that is the play of Aqib Talib.

Talib has struggled since returning from a hip injury and was exposed last week when Josh Gordon caught seven passes for 151 yards and a touchdown.

Mary Paoletti on Quick Slants discussed why Talib has not played well since his injury.

“Even if you haven’t said it out loud yet you’ve probably thought about it, Aqib Talib is not the same cornerback he was before he suffered that hip injury,” Paoletti said. “In early November he was one of the best man coverage corners in the league. Now, he has given up legitimate yards in recent weeks to guys like Steve Smith, Demaryius Thomas and Josh Gordon. Patriots should maybe hope for playoff byes so he can ice up.”
