The Boston Red Sox winning the World Series could mean that good things will come from this New England Patriots season.

The last two times the Red Sox won the World Series, the Patriots went to the Super Bowl twice, winning one and losing another.

On Quick Slants, Mary Paoletti thinks there might be a correlation between the two.

“Anyone superstitious enough to believe that the Red Sox can push the Patriots to another Super Bowl appearance?” Paoletti said. “I don’t know, but this is Boston, so there is a chance.”

Paoletti, along with Tom E. Curran took questions from fans and one particularly wondered why Stevan Ridley isn’t playing as much as some expected.

“When you look at what the Patriots rotation is, apparently Bill Belichick has decided that the three of them together, Ridley, [LeGarrette] Blount, and Brandon Bolden are what fits,” Curran said. “I’ll tell you what, when Shane Vereen comes back after the bye, somebody is getting kicked to the curb and it better not be Ridley.”
