Ochocinco's new Twitter BFF: John Boehner

Share

When House Speaker John Boehner played the traditional role of loyal opposition during President Obama's State of the Union address -- sitting there with a sour look on his face at every word the President uttered -- it drew the attention of none other than Chad Ochocinco.

And, thanks to social media, a beautiful friendship was born.

Ochocinco, an Obama supporter, Tweeted during the SOTU:

Anybody notice the guy over Obamas left shoulder doesn't seem very happy and he's not smiling. He's not clapping with joy

When someone told Ochocinco that it was John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Speaker of the House, Ochocino asked if Boehner was on Twitter. When told he was, Ocho Tweeted directly to the Speaker:
Just read some of your tweets and you seem pretty angry kind sir. I can see you on tv but you're not smiling. Hope you're ok

When he woke up the next morning, Ochocinco -- who, in the meantime, wondered how Mr. Obama memorized such a long speech (and was told he read it off a Teleprompter) -- Tweeted to Boehner:
Hello Mr. Boehner, hoping you are in better spirits today. If all else seems bad in life just remember I love you kind sir.

To which Boehner responded:
@ochocinco: Thanks & good luck in the@SuperBowl; we'll see you in the playoffs next year. GoBengalsWhoDey

Ochocino's was impressed that Boehner responded to him:
Totally awesome that John Boehner just tweeted me.

And the coda to whole thing was provided, in typical Twitter fashion, in this exchange between Ochocinco and one of his followers:

Well now we are friends you f_cking Pansy RTwtf ocho..you didn't even know who he was until last night dummy
